From the Frankfurt School to Critical Race Theory: The New Left | 2025

Marxism, ‘neomarxism’, ‘cultural Marxism’, postmodernism, post-structuralism, critical theory, Critical Race Theory: how do we make sense of the myriad branches of the new Left? What are their differences and commonalities, and how have they shaped the world we live in today? This course, led by Nikos Sotirakopoulos, will follow the intellectual and political developments of the Left from the 1960s until today.

Prerequisite: 16-Week Objectivism Seminar or Intensive Seminar on Objectivism II

    Nikos Sotirakopoulos
    Dr. Sotirakopoulos is a visiting fellow at the Ayn Rand Institute. Dr. Sotirakopoulos received his PhD in political sociology from University of Kent in the UK, and before joining ARU he taught in UK universities for 10 years. He has written two books: The Rise of Lifestyle Activism: from New Left to Occupy, and Identity Politics and Tribalism: the New Culture Wars.
